Christmas carols in the Nová Říše monastery
Dec. 12, 2025
The concert entitled Christmas Carols took place on Thursday at the Nová Říše monastery. Conductor Marek Štilec, founder of the Wranitzky Kapelle ensemble, invited soprano Michaela Šrůmová and cembalist Filip Dvořák to perform at this traditional concert. The aroma of mulled wine accompanied performances of works by Bach, Mozart, Koželuh, and Michna z Otradovic.
At the beginning, cembalist Filip Dvořák announced that the concert would be slightly "interactive." He then let the audience choose by randomly drawing tickets from a lottery (in this case, a nice stainless steel bowl) and then briefly talked about each piece. The audience rewarded the performances of both soloists with long applause.
We would like to thank the Nové Říše Cultural Association for organizing this wonderful chamber event.
