Xin Wang and Florian Koltun will perform at the Steinway & Sons piano recital

Sept. 3, 2025

After two years, the outstanding piano duo Xin Wang & Florian Koltun returns to Jihlava.

Pianist Xin Wang comes from China (Inner Mongolia), where she made her debut in a national piano competition at the age of just seven. Her career then began to rise rapidly. In 2008, she decided to study in Europe at the Cologne University of Music. There she met her artistic and life partner Florian Koltun. She has completed a number of master classes in China and Germany. Since 2012, she has been teaching at music universities in Europe and her native China. Xin Wang is the founder and artistic director of the international piano festival in Geilenkirchen, Germany, and a jury member of the international piano competition "Euregio Piano Award."

German pianist and music manager Florian Koltun is a graduate of music academies in Cologne and Trossingen. At the age of fourteen, he attracted attention as a laureate in the German piano competitions "Jugend musiziert" and the Bach Competition in Köthen. Further awards were not long in coming, and he has won a number of prestigious international piano competitions (Caraglio in Italy, the Henri Herman Concours in Maastricht in the Netherlands, and Notes in Harmony in Bettona, Italy).

Xin Wang and Florian Koltun form a dynamic and innovative piano duo, whose brilliantly interpreted recitals bring joy and enjoyment of music to audiences throughout Europe and China.

Before the concert, students from the Jihlava Elementary Art School will perform: Helena Fialová Jr. on cello, accompanied by Helena Fialová on piano, Hana Molvová on French horn, Terezie Traganová on violin, and Jan Molva on piano.
