American Youth and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth: Performed by the Greater Dallas Youth Symphony

June 3, 2026

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO) will perform in Jihlava. Founded in 1972 as a non-profit organization, the GDYO’s mission is to provide young musicians with high-quality musical education, as well as opportunities for artistic growth and public performance. The orchestra fosters musical talent, creativity, independence, and teamwork, making a significant contribution to the personal development of its members. The orchestra will be conducted by Richard Giangiulio, with Maria Schleuning appearing as the evening’s soloist. The program showcases American youth—reflected not only in the performers themselves but also in the repertoire—and features one of P. I. Tchaikovsky’s most significant and distinctive works: his Fourth Symphony.
